From Sketch to Dress

At Nardos Design, every gown or garment starts out with a sketch.  Nardos Imam, the designer behind the brand, is constantly inspired by her clients to create a dress that is as beautiful as the woman wearing it.  As a custom couturier, Nardos sits down with each client to find out their inspiration behind the garment. Everything from color palette to flowers is discussed to first imagine and then create that perfect dress for each event.  When it comes to creating a collection the process is no different.  Nardos still thinks of and designs for her clients.  Everything from beautiful custom hand-painted gowns, custom silks imported from Italy, or hand embroidery created in the heart of the East is used to create a collection of gowns perfect for her clients needs.

When Nardos sits down to design, she starts with a sketchbook and preferably colored pencils or acrylic paint.  Sometimes she may even use charcoal.  After a client has described the different elements of their custom garment, Nardos will translate their dream into a reality.  But when she isn’t sketching for a client, you can find her designing and sketching in the Atelier.  She loves the process of creating a garment, especially draping the fabric on the dress form, and watching the fabric evolve into a gown.

When all is said and done, seeing our clients wearing their custom Nardos Design garments is incredibly rewarding.  We love what we do.  Stop by the salon in Victory Park today to see what we can create for you!

We absolutely loved working on designing this beautiful custom dress for renowned local lifestyle blogger Amy Havins of Dallas Wardrobe earlier this year.
