Below is our step-by-step guide to the custom garment process at
NARDOS Design.
At your first meeting, you’ll discuss ideas and inspirations for your custom dress. Personal measurements will be taken and you will try on different samples and review fabric and embellishment options, before approving a final design idea.
During this appointment, you’ll try on a muslin pattern of your dress to get an idea of the shape and silhouette of the design on your body.
At your first fitting, you’ll need to bring the shoes you plan to wear with your gown in order to make adjustments to the hem length. If your dress has multiple layers, we will only fit the innermost layer during this appointment.
Final Fitting - The number of subsequent fittings will vary depending on the complexity of the design. The important thg for us at NARDOS Design is that your dress fits you perfectly and that you are in love with the end result once you leave our atelier.
We work with clients based all over the country and try to accommodate fittings around specific travel schedules. Final designs can also be shipped across the United States.
It’s never too early to start the design process! Since many of our fabrics and embellishments are sourced internationally, it’s important to book an appointment as soon as possible. Below are some suggested timelines for custom pieces:
- Custom Evening Gowns: Three months prior to the event
- Custom Evening Gowns with Custom Beading: Four months prior to the event
- Bridal Gowns: At least six months prior to your wedding date
- Made-to-Order Daywear: One month prior to the event
